July Finds

The month is ending once more so this post is in order. Like in the previous months, I didn't get much this time. Here they are:
  1. Sunskeen ProTech. This is recommended by my dermatologist which I also got from her. Prior to this, I alternate Nivea Daily Face Fluid Immediate Sun Protection and Myra Daily Sun Protect but my dermatologist said she is not sure what those product contains or if it contains something that could aggravate my pimples so she switched me to this. Been using this for almost a month already and I will post a review soon.
  2. Human Heart Nature Strengthening Conditioner. It isn't my first time to use an organic conditioner nor my first time to use one from Human Heart Nature however it's my first time with this variant. That's a lot of first time in one sentence! :D I am seeing a longtime relationship with this and I am excited to review this baby.
  3. Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick. The shades I got are Pinkerbell (968) and Red Velvet (910D). I originally wanted Stoplight Red but it wasn't able so I got this instead. If you read my blog on regular basis, you will know that I am on a quest for that affordable classic red lipstick with that vintage feel. I have been thinking of buying a shade from MAC but the frugal in me will not approve. Will this red end my quest for that lipstick I have been looking for? Watch out my review for it...

Review: Epiduo Anti-acne Gel

After weeks of zero low self-confidence, I finally visited my derma hoping that she can put an end to all this misery. As usual, she prescribed oral medication but this time, she put me on Tetralysal (Limecycline) instead of doxycycline which she prescribed me twice in the past. She also prescribed Epiduo Anti-acne Gel along with the anti-acne bar (with salicyclic and tea tree) and clarifying liquid. Both the anti-acne bar and clarifying liquid are her own formulation while the Tetralysal and Epiduo are from Galderma. The latter is the one I will be reviewing in this post.

Review: Garnier Pure Active Multi-action Scrub

I have been seeing a dermatologist for months already but there are times when I get frustrated with the result I am getting though I know that it takes months (some even years!) to treat acne. There are times when I want to try every anti-acne product I found on the market at once hoping to hasten the treatment. That shouldn’t be the case, I know, but when your self confidence is at stake, you just have to take the matters into your own hands.

Before my recent trip to the derm (and new regimen), I dropped by Watsons to find something promising. I found this Garnier Pure Active Multi Action Scrub and after reading the labels, I decided to get it while hoping that it could be the answer to my prayers. But is it? Read my review...
Product Description. Visibly fights six signs of acne.

Review: Lauat Herbal Hair Treatment Shampoo

Hello everyone! It’s been awhile since I made my last product review and I truly miss my bi-weekly blog posts. But my schedule has been really crazy lately; looking for things to fill the new apartment (tiring!), extra workload, doctor’s appointments (dermatologist and ob/gyne), daughter duties and tita duties (playing badminton with the boys, fixing their gadgets/internet connection problem, crocheting bracelet for them since they are not allowed to have loom bands, etc). When can I find time to blog? Maybe if I sacrifice my rest (aka time-off-the-computer), then this blog will surely be as active as before. But then, rest (and sleep!) is something I cannot trade over other worldly possessions so I made a painful choice of sacrificing my blogs. As what I have said on my previous post, this arrangement will have to linger until the next couple of months. Once I’m settled to my new place, everything will be back to normal... I hope!

Anyway for this post, I will be talking about the shampoo I recently tried in the hopes of treating my super annoying dandruff. After finishing a couple or so bottles of Nanny Rose’ Gugo Lawat Shampoo, I decided to try a similar product, the Lauat Herbal Hair Treatment Shampoo. This one is a bit cheaper than the latter but is the price justifiable? Find out...
Product Description:
Discover nature's gifts for healthy beautiful hair.
Enjoy the combined nourishing benefits of:
  • Lawat (Litsea glutinosa)
  • Gugo (Entada phaseoloides)
  • Virgin coconut oil (Cocos nucifera)

Review: Human Heart Nature 100% Natural Perfect Coverage Mineral Foundation

If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know that I have been battling acne since October 2013. Due to this problem, I decided to stop using anything that is not prescribed by my derma and avoided putting on makeup most of the time… well except for concealer to hide those ugly and embarrassing monsters. I’m afraid that using such products can derail the treatment which I wanted to get over with as soon as possible as my case of acne is getting really costly and embarrassing.

But then, there are times when I really need to look a bit more polished than usual so I decided to scour the internet for makeup that is recommended to people with skin issues such as mine. And since I have been trying to minimize the use of chemicals, I went on to look for natural cosmetics.

Given that the Human Heart Nature Iloilo branch is just a few minutes from my office, I decided that I should get this brand so that I never have to pay for shipping and I can see/test the actual product before buying. Before my store visit, I checked their website first to get ideas what to buy later on. I love that their site publishes honest product reviews from real people and offer refunds to people who are not satisfied with the product. Goes to show that they are confident about their products.

Do I feel the same about this foundation? Find out...
